Implant in nerve canal

I have had all the implants removed other than the
implant in nerve canal on the bottom left
side of my mouth. The #19 stuck in the nerve has been
sawed off and sits below the gum line. This is hurting
me – I want the implant removed.

I have visited dentists and they give a plan and then nothing happens. Is there a way to remove this #19 implant without FURTHER lack of feeling in my lips and gums. My lip is dead since the implant was done.

I have a few questions before I feel that I can truly answer your question. Why did your implants fail? It would be rare to have all implant posts removed. There is a risk of nerve damage when implants are placed. Where they trying to remove the implant when it broke and damaged the nerve? What plan of treatment have the oral surgeons given you? Most general dentists would not perform this kind of surgery. If you have seen only your general DDS regarding this issue I would highly recommend you seeing an oral surgeon. The nerve damage you currently have could be permanent and you should take this matter very seriously and seek treatment as soon as possible.
