Experience with Perma Soft?

| October 18, 2013 | 1 Comment

I had 6 upper implants placed in March,2012. I have to wait 6 months before the bridge can be loaded on the implants. I’m wearing a pair of dentures with the palate cut out – I could not STAND the palate because of extreme dry mouth.

I had these implants done in a place about 400 miles from where I live because the cost was about half of what dentists around here charge. I’ve already had to make one trip for a soft reline that now needs to be redone. My dentist here will not touch them, he’s not comfortable doing anything that might effect the implants.

I used Perma Soft to do a reline and it worked pretty well but could have been better. I wish I had ordered 2 kits, one for practice and then one to do the reline.

Has anyone had any experience with Perma Soft? I would like to redo the relign and have enough left, but it has hardened.

Thank You

    Hi Diane,

Technically you should not need any liner material if a prosthesis was made to fit correctly. They may simply need to be readjusted prior to being relined again, so that they will wear more comfortably. If your current dentist will not touch them I would suggest contacting another location, a dental lab, or a dental school to help you with the problem. Otherwise you may just want to keep doing what you’re doing until the permanent bridge is made – just be sure that once that permanent bridge is fitted that it is comfortable and fits right before you leave the office so you don’t run into the same problem.
